Artist Statement
Aude Schneider-Tremblay is a visual artist based in Venice, Italy, and Montreal,
Canada. Through oil painting, she seeks to create feelings of balance, grounding, and connectedness in a complex society dominated by dopamine and overindulgence. Her artistic practice stems from thoughtfully observing how humans interact with and find respite from their environment. How do we go within ourselves, learn to accept discomfort, and achieve homeostasis – a stable internal state – regardless of the changes taking place in our worlds? How and where do we start to be the change we want to see in the world, to make a difference, to save what’s left?
The ethereal, sensual and luminous nature of Schneider-Tremblay’s artistic practice represents the dream within the reality and the reality within the dream, blending elements of realism with soft, impressionistic, brushstrokes combined with a aquarelle like use of chiaroscuro throughout her compositions. Her work displays a joyously curious approach to light, energy, and sensuality.
At the heart of Schneider-Tremblay’s art is a desire to create space. Space to exhale.
Space to notice beauty. Space to reflect on the limitless potential we all contain. Space to breathe and embody renewability in order to better serve ourselves and our environment.
